Scented Rice
In a glass jar pour a teaspoon of essential oil (type used for potpourri) and roll around until the inside of the jar is coated. Add a pound of uncooked rice (the old fashioned kind that has to be cooked NOT INSTANT). As you should never let your essential oil come in contact with metal place a coffee filter over the top and screw on the lid. Roll the jar until the rice has all come in contact with the oil. Place in a cool dark place and every day roll the jar to spread the scented oil. After two weeks your rice will have picked up the scent of the oil and can be used to stuff the fabric tube coiled into a coaster and ladder stitched in place.
