Black Root promotes perspiration, relieves gas, promotes bile flow from the gallbladder, and encourages movement of the bowels.

A perennial herb roughly 31/2 feet in height, Black Root originated in the eastern United States, but now it grows in other areas as well. The root and fleshy underground stem are used medicinally. The fresh root is considerably more potent than the dried.
